The 2013 CONCACAF GOLD Cup Tournament concluded Sunday yesterday with the United States Men's National Team defeating Panama 1-0 in the championship match broadcast live on FOX from Soldier Field in Chicago. The game posted a 1.4/4 national household rating/share and ties the 2011 UEFA Champions League Final as the network's highest-rated soccer broadcast ever. Sunday's Gold Cup Final, which saw Team USA win its 11th consecutive match, and fifth Gold Cup Championship (first since 2007), averaged 2.4 million viewers, the most for a soccer match on FOX since the '11 Champions League Final (2.6 million). The match was the top-rated event of the day among Men 18-34 (1.2), and the audience peaked as the match concluded with a 1.8 from 5:45 to 6:00 PM ET and 1.9 from 6:00-6:05 PM ET. Sunday's broadcast was +56% over the national rating posted by last Sunday's Gold Cup quarterfinal match on FOX between the US and El Salvador (0.9/2). Kansas City led all markets with a 3.2/7, followed by San Diego (3.1/8) and Washington, DC (3.0/7).
FOX UFC SATURDAY: JOHNSON VS. MORAGA POSTS RATINGS GAIN; WINS KEY DEMOS
Saturday night's prime time edition of FOX UFC SATURDAY: JOHNSON VS. MORAGA was a big win for the network, powering FOX to easy first place finishes across all key male and adult demos. The event posted a 1.5/3 household rating/share, a 7% gain over the UFC on FOX event last summer when audience levels were similar, with each event attracting an average viewership of 2.4 million. In the key young male demographic category (Men 18-34), Saturday night's card was the highest-rated event of the weekend (1.5), and for the week tied for eighth place in primetime. FOX won the night in Men 18-34 (1.5), Men 18-49 (1.6), Adults 18-34 (1.0) and Adults 18-49 (1.1).
