UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - February 22, 2012 - Paced by week two of "The Voice" and "Smash" and the season premiere of "The Celebrity Apprentice," NBC averaged a 1.9 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall for the week of February 13-19, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

"The Voice" finished in a near dead-heat for the week's #1 ranking on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, with its 6.0 rating landing within a tenth of point of Fox's 6.1 for the Wednesday edition of "American Idol." "The Voice" ranked #1 for the week in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 18-49.

Also among the week's top-ranked programs in adults 18-49 were NBC's "Smash" (tied for #18) and "The Celebrity Apprentice" (tied for #25). In adults 18-34, "The Office" tied for #12 and "Smash" tied for #15.

Primetime averages for the week of February 13-19 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.9/8), CBS (2.5/7), ABC (2.0/6), NBC (1.9/5) and CW (0.6/2). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (10.9 million), Fox (8.7 million), ABC (6.7 million), NBC (5.6 million) and CW (1.4 million).

Versus the same week last year, NBC is up 19 percent in 18-49 (with a 1.9 rating vs. a 1.6) while ABC, CBS and Fox were all flat or down in 18-49 rating.

NBC highlights for the week of February 13-19

* On Monday, "The Voice" dominated the 8-10 p.m. ET slot, ranking #1 versus all broadcast and cable competition in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures. "The Voice" topped its closest competitor -- CBS's first-run comedy block -- by 67 percent in 18-49 rating.

* "The Voice" has dramatically transformed NBC's performance in the Monday 8-10 p.m. time period -- versus NBC's averages in this slot this season prior to "The Voice," Monday's telecast was up 233 percent in 18-49 rating and 191 percent in total viewers.

* Through two weeks, "The Voice" has delivered NBC's two highest 18-49 ratings in this time period, excluding Olympics, in nearly five years.

* Also on Monday, week two of "Smash" was the night's #1 drama in adults 18-49, topping such primetime rivals as "Hawaii Five-0," "Castle," "House" and "Alcatraz."

* NBC won Monday night in adults 18-49 for the second week in a row, marking NBC's first back-to-back Monday wins with regularly scheduled programming in four years.

* On Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser" grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by 10 percent in 18-49 rating to rise to #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox by its final 9:30-10 p.m. ET half-hour.

* On Wednesday, "Whitney" generated a 13 percent gain week to week in 18-49 rating to equal its highest rating in five weeks.

* On Thursday, "The Office" built on its "30 Rock" lead-in by 35 percent in 18-49 rating and led its highly competitive time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in men 18-34 and men 18-49.

* Friday's "43rd NAACP Image Awards" generated increases versus last year of 33 percent in 18-49 rating and 27 percent in total viewers, for the event's biggest overall audience in three years.

* On Sunday, a "Voice" encore grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by 75 percent in 18-49 rating.

* Also on Sunday, the debut of "The Celebrity Apprentice" won three of its four half-hour among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and claimed its second hour, from 10-11 p.m., in every key demographic.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of February 13-19:

On Monday, Feb. 13 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (6.0 rating, 15 share in adults 18-49, 16.3 million viewers overall) dominated the 8-10 p.m. ET time period, ranking #1 versus all broadcast and cable competition in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, total viewers and all other key measures. In adults 18-49, "The Voice" topped its closest competitor by 67 percent (with a 6.0 rating vs. a 3.6 for CBS's comedy block in second place).

"The Voice" has dramatically improved NBC's performance in this time period - versus NBC's averages in this slot this season prior to "The Voice," Monday's telecast was up 233 percent in 18-49 rating (6.0 vs. 1.8) and 191 percent in total viewers (16.278 million vs. 5.587 million).

Through two weeks, "The Voice" has delivered NBC's two highest 18-49 ratings in this time period, excluding Olympics, in nearly five years (since March 5, 2007). "The Voice" has also generated the two highest ratings in the Monday 8-10 p.m. time period for any broadcast network since premiere week, the first two weeks of "The Voice" on Monday ranking ahead of every other network's average since the season debuts of CBS's Monday comedy block.

From its first half-hour to its fourth, "The Voice" grew by 27 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 6.6 rating from a 5.2) and 15 percent or 2.3 million persons in total viewers (to 17.3 million from 15.0 million).

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Smash" (2.8/7 in 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall) ranked #1 versus all broadcast and cable competition in the 10 p.m. ET hour in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and other key measures.

"Smash" has now given NBC the network's first two 18-49 wins in the Monday 10 p.m. time period versus regular first-run in-season competition since November 3, 2008, excluding Olympics. "Smash" has also generated NBC's two highest in-season non-Olympic ratings in the slot since April 13, 2009.

"Smash" was the #1 drama Monday night in adults 18-49, topping such primetime rivals as "Hawaii Five-0," "Castle," "House" and "Alcatraz."

Versus NBC's season average in this slot prior to "Smash," Monday's telecast was up 180 percent in 18-49 rating (2.8 vs. 1.0) and 108 percent or 4.2 million persons in total viewers (8.056 million vs. 3.864 million).

With time period victories from "The Voice" and "Smash," NBC won Monday night in adults 18-49 for the second week in a row, marking NBC's first back-to-back Monday wins with regularly scheduled programming in four years (since February 11-18, 2008).

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, Valentine's Day, from 8-9 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser 13" averaged a 2.1/6 in 18-49 and 5.9 million viewers overall. "The Biggest Loser" grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by 10 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.2 from a 2.0), to rank #2 in its final half-hour in adults 18-49, topping ABC's "The River" and Fox's "Raising Hope."

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Parenthood" averaged a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers overall. "Parenthood" ranked #2 in its hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and most other key measures and was #1 in adults 18-34 (tied) and women 18-34.

On Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, "Whitney" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) is up week to week by 13 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.7 from a 1.5) and up 10 percent in total viewers (4.5 million vs. 4.1 million), despite the arrival in the time period this week of competition from CBS's "Survivor: One World." Versus NBC's average in the time period last season, "Whitney" is up 31 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 1.7 vs. a 1.3, "live plus same day" non-sports).

"Whitney" matched its highest rating in five weeks (since the show's slot debut on January 11) and also generated a five-week high in total viewers.

Wednesday at 8:30 ET, "Are You There, Chelsea?" averaged a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall), and at 9 p.m., "Rock Center with Brian Williams" averaged a 0.8/2 in adults 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Rock Center" grew by 14 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 0.8 rating from a 0.7), by 11 percent in adults 25-54 (1.0 vs. 0.9) and 16 percent in total viewers (to 3.2 million from 2.8 million).

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.7/4 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) grew from its first half-hour to its second by 13 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.8 rating from a 1.6) and 9 percent in total viewers (6.2 million vs. 5.6 million), while the drama competition on ABC and CBS was declining in both categories. "SVU" built on its lead-in by 143 percent in 18-49 rating and 97 percent in total viewers.

On Thursday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET, "30 Rock" delivered a 1.5/4 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers in a highly competitive time period versus Fox's CBS's "Big Bang Theory," "American Idol" and ABC's "Wipeout."

Thursday at 8:30 ET, "Parks and Recreation" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 13 percent in 18-49 rating in a highly competitive time period versus Fox's "American Idol," CBS's "Rob" and ABC's "Wipeout."

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, "The Office" (2.3/6 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 35 percent in 18-49 and 27 percent in total viewers. In a highly competitive time period versus Fox's "American Idol," ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS's "Person of Interest" and Fox's "The Finder," "The Office" finished #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34 and #1 among men 18-34 and men 18-49.

Thursday at 9:31 ET, "Up All Night" averaged a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period versus the concluding half-hours of Fox's "American Idol," ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS's "Person of Interest."

Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Grimm" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 1.8 million viewers overall.

On Friday, Feb. 17, from 8-10 p.m. ET, NBC's coverage of "The 43rd NAACP Image Awards" (0.8/2 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall) was up 33 percent versus the event's year-ago rating in adults 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.6 March 4, 2011 on Fox) and up 27 percent in total viewers (2.945 million vs. 2.318 million). In total viewers, it's the top-scoring "NAACP Image Awards" since 2009.

Friday at 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" reported a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Dateline" grew by 9 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 rating from a 1.1) and 8 percent in total viewers (4.6 million vs. 4.2 million).

On Saturday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Smash" averaged a 0.4/1 in 18-49 and 2.1 million viewers overall. And at 9 p.m. ET, "The Firm" delivered a 0.5/1 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall.

Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (0.7/2 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall) grew from its first half-hour to its second in all key categories, including gains of 33 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.8 from a 0.6) and 29 percent in total viewers (3.7 million vs. 2.9 million).

On Sunday, Feb. 19 from 7-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Voice" (1.6/4 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall) delivered dramatic growth from its first half-hour to its fourth, increasing by 75 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.1 from a 1.2) and by 55 percent or nearly 2.3 million persons in total viewers (6.3 million vs. 4.1 million). The "Voice" encore tied Fox's 7-9 p.m. ET animated comedies in adults 18-49 and out-rated that two-hour Fox block in women 18-49, adults 25-54, women 25-54 and total viewers.

Sunday from 9-11 p.m. ET, the debut of "The Celebrity Apprentice" (2.6/6 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) won its final three half-hours in adults 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox and led the full time period in adults 25-54 and other key demos. "Celebrity Apprentice" delivered solid growth through its two-hour time period, increasing by 17 percent in 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its fourth (to a 2.8 from a 2.4) and by 9 percent in total viewers (7.9 million vs. 7.2 million). "Celebrity Apprentice" built on NBC's results in the prior hour from 8-9 p.m. ET by 30 percent in 18-49 rating (2.6 vs. 2.0) and 22 percent in total viewers (7.4 million vs. 6.1 million).

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "The Celebrity Apprentice" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key demographic -- adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 -- versus CBS's "CSI: Miami" and ABC's "Pan Am." "Celebrity Apprentice" led the 10 p.m. hour by a 33 percent margin in adults 18-49 (with a 2.8 rating vs. a 2.1 for CBS's second-place "CSI: Miami").

Despite airing on a holiday weekend and facing a 21-minute "Amazing Race" overrun, last night's "Celebrity Apprentice" finished within 7 percent of the year-ago premiere (2.6 vs. 2.8 on Sunday, March 6, 2011) and within 6 percent in total viewers (7.424 million vs. 7.938 million).

NBC finished Sunday night tied for #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 with a 2.1 rating, just a tenth of a point behind first-place CBS's 2.2.
