MTV'S "THE REAL WORLD" DELIVERS FRANCHISE'S BEST PREMIERE IN FIVE SEASONS
"THE REAL WORLD: SAN DIEGO" WAS WEDNESDAY'S #1 ORIGINAL CABLE SERIES AMONG P12-34
New York, NY (September 29, 2011) - The season premiere of "The Real World: San Diego" was the best debut in five seasons and the #1 original cable series of the night. Averaging a 2.1 rating among P12-34, "The Real World: San Diego" bested the season premiere of "The Real World: Las Vegas" by +17%. "The Real World: San Diego" ranked #1 in the 10 o'clock hour across all of cable among P12-34 and #1 across all of television among F12-34. Nearly 2 million viewers tuned in to the newest installment of MTV's groundbreaking reality series.
In next week's episode of "The Real World: San Diego" airing on Wednesday, October 5, Sam and Nate pull an alarming prank on the other roommates, while sparks fly between Zach and Ashley. Meanwhile, a night of drinking causes Frank to become belligerent and he has to deal with the aftermath the next day.
"The Real World" was created for MTV by Jonathan Murray and Mary-Ellis Bunim of Bunim-Murray Productions. Jonathan Murray and Jim Johnston serve as Executive Producers of "The Real World: San Diego." Jacquelyn French is the MTV executive overseeing the project.
