During the week spanning the final nights of the season leading into the Memorial Day weekend (w/o 5/23/11), ABC took second place in Total Viewers (7.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.8/6). Among Adults 18-49, ABC defeated CBS and NBC by 38% each (CBS and NBC tied at a 1.3/4). In fact, the Net finished No. 2 to Fox with young adults for the 7th straight week.

· ABC built over the same week last year (w/o 5/24/10 = 6.4 million and 1.6/5) by double-digit percentages in viewers (+11%) and young adults (+13% - up the most), growing its overall audience year to year for the 8th time in the last 9 weeks.

Weekly Rankings: ABC delivered 7 of the week's Top 20 TV programs among Adults 18-49, more than any other network: "Dancing with the Stars" - No. 3, "DWTS Results Show" - No. 4, "Modern Family" - No. 7, "The Bachelorette" - No. 15, "The Middle" - No. 16, "DWTS-TUE 8PM" - No. 19 and "Cougar Town" - No. 20. In addition, ABC claimed 4 of the week's Top 8 most-watched television shows overall, also the most for any network, including "DWTS," "DWTS Results Show," "DWTS-TUE 8PM" and "Modern Family." In fact with "DWTS" and "DWTS Results Show" finishing No. 2 and No. 3 for the week, respectively, and "Idol Tuesday SP" coming in at No. 4, it was the first time ever that "American Idol" did not close out its season claiming the Top 2 spots in Total Viewers during the week of its finales.

Monday

Featuring the Monday finale of "DWTS" and the season premiere of "The Bachelorette," ABC dominated its 4th consecutive Monday of the 2011 May Sweep, defeating runner-up Fox with its season finales ("House"/"The Chicago Code") by 5.6 million viewers (13.7 million vs. 8.1 million) and by 26% in Adults 18-49 (3.4/9 vs. 2.7/7). For the 4th week in a row, the Net topped its broadcast competition in all 6 half-hours of the night with viewers and young adults. In fact on each of the final 11 weeks of the season, ABC qualified as Monday's most-watched television network overall and delivered the No. 1 position on the evening in Adults 18-49 on 10 of 11 weeks.

· The Net boosted its year-to-year May Sweep returns on all 4 Mondays, building by 1.2 million viewers and by 6% with young adults over the same night a year ago (12.5 million and 3.2/9 on 5/24/10).

"Dancing with the Stars" (8:00-9:01 p.m.)

At 8:00 p.m., a 1-hour edition of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" made it a perfect 10 for 10, ranking No. 1 in its time period on all 10 telecasts this season in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. In its time slot, "DWTS" drew a larger overall audience than the other nets combined (22.9 million vs. 18.3 million) and topped Fox's House Finale by 38% with Adults 18-49 (4.7/14 vs. 3.4/10) . The ABC dancing performance program once again registered as Monday's No. 1 TV show in Total Viewers (10 of 10 telecasts) and Adults 18-49 (9 of 10 telecasts).

· "DWTS" rose by double-digit percentages over its year-ago Monday finale (19.4 million and 4.0/12), gaining 18% in Total Viewers and 18% in Adults 18-49. In fact "DWTS" drew its biggest-ever audience for a spring finale.

· On average, Season 12 of "DWTS" grew over Season 11 in Total Viewers (+5% - 22.5 million vs. 21.4 million) and in Adults 18-49 (+7% - 4.9/13 vs. 4.6/11), finishing out as the franchise's most-watched-ever season overall.

"The Bachelorette" (9:01-11:00 p.m.)

On its 7th season opener, ABC's "The Bachelorette" finished No. 1 in its 2-hour time period in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, leading CBS by 23% (9.0 million vs. 7.3 million) and 40% (2.8/7 vs. 2.0/5), respectively. In addition, "The Bachelorette" was the dominant series in its time slot across with Adults 18-34 and all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

Tuesday

With the Grand Finale 12th-season closer of "Dancing," ABC (17.7 million) stood as the most-watched network on the final Tuesday of the season and sweep, outdrawing Fox (16.1 million) with its Tuesday finale of "Idol" into the season finale of "Glee" by 1.6 million viewers, and NBC (8.3 million) with its 2-hour season closer of "The Biggest Loser: Couples" and "The Voice" by 9.4 million viewers. In addition, ABC defeated NBC on the night by 15% in Adults 18-49 (3.8/10 vs. 3.3/9).

· Surging week to week in Total Viewers (+26%) and Adults 18-49 (+41%), ABC marked its 2nd-strongest Tuesday of the season.

"DWTS Results Show" (9:00-11:00 p.m.)

In its 12th-season finale from 9:00-11:00 p.m., ABC's "Dancing with the Stars Results Show" produced season-high numbers on the night in both Total Viewers (21.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.6/11). The "Dancing" finale dominated all 4 of its half-hours in Total Viewers to stand as the most-watched TV program of the night, topping the Tuesday finale of "American Idol" by nearly 1.0 million viewers (21.4 million vs. 20.6 million from 8:00-8:59 p.m.). In fact, ABC's "DWTS Results Show" outdrew Fox's Tuesday "Idol" finale for the first time, becoming the first-ever TV program to accomplish the feat. Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward won the coveted Mirror Ball trophy.

· Soaring to a decisive victory in its second hour from 10:00-11:00 p.m., "DWTS Results Show" towered over runner-up NBC's "The Voice" by 13.9 million viewers (22.4 million vs. 8.5 million) and by 29% in Adults 18-49 (4.9/12 vs. 3.8/9).

· "DWTS the Results" jumped by double-digit percentages over its year-ago Tuesday finale (on 5/26/10), building 16% in Total Viewers (21.4 million vs. 18.4 million) and 18% in Adults 18-49 (4.6/11 vs. 3.9/11). In fact, "DWTS Results Show" attracted its 2nd-largest crowd ever for a spring closer.

· On average ("DWTS" and "DWTS Results Show" combined), Season 12 of "Dancing" built over the high-rated Season 11 in Total Viewers (+3% - 21.1 million vs. 20.4 million) and in Adults 18-49 (+2% - 4.5/12 vs. 4.4/11), producing as the franchise's most-watched-ever season overall.

Wednesday

Opposite Fox's 2-hour "American Idol" season closer on the final evening of the season, ABC's Wednesday night comedy finales earned a strong second place among Adults 18-49 (2.3/6), beating CBS by 44% (1.6/4) and NBC by 130% (1.0/3).

· Building week to week against the "Idol" finale in viewers (+5% - 6.3 million vs. 6.0 million) and young adults (+5% - 2.3/6 vs. 2.2/6), ABC equaled 15-week Wednesday highs in both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 - since 2/9/11.

· Surging over the year-ago night (4.8 million and 1.8/5 on 5/26/10) by double-digit percentages in viewers (+31%) and young adults (+28%), ABC marked its strongest season-ending Wednesday in 4 years - since 2007.

· On average during the 2010-11 season, ABC's Wednesday numbers grew over last season in both Total Viewers (+8% - 7.7 million vs. 7.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (+4% - 2.7/7 vs. 2.6/7).

"The Middle" (8:00-8:30 p.m.)

At 8:00 p.m., ABC's sophomore season finale of "The Middle" finished No. 2 to "Idol" in viewers (7.3 million) and young adults (2.2/7).

· "The Middle" posted its highest-rated telecast in more than 4 months with Men 18-34 (1.6/6) - since 1/19/11.

· On average during its sophomore season, ABC's "The Middle" finished as TV's 2nd-biggest year-to-year gainer among returning scripted series (behind only "Modern Family"), surging by 21% in Total Viewers (8.1 million vs. 6.7 million) over its performance in the 8:30 p.m. half-hour last season.

"Modern Family" (8:30-9:00 p.m.)

At 8:30 p.m. among Adults 18-49, a repeat telecast of "Modern Family" (1.9/5) beat out CBS' replay "Big Bang Theory" by 19% (1.6/4) and NBC's replay "Minute to Win It" by 138% (0.8/2).

"Modern Family" (9:00-9:31 p.m.)

Soaring over its lead-in with Total Viewers (+75% - 10.3 million vs. 5.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (+121% - 4.2/11 vs. 1.9/5) against the third half-hour of "Idol" at 9:00 p.m., ABC's season closer of "Modern Family" finished as Wednesday's No. 1 scripted show on both Nielsen measures. In fact among Adults 18-49, the ABC comedy qualified as Wednesday's No. 1 scripted show on all 24 of its original airings this season.

· Up against the "Idol" finale and the NBA Playoffs, "Modern Family" increased its Adult 18-49 audience week to week (+2%), while posting its highest numbers in 2 months among key Men (M18-34/M18-49) - since 3/23/11.

· ABC's "Modern Family" capped out its sophomore season as the fastest-growing TV show on the broadcast nets, jumping over its freshman season by 24% in Total Viewers (11.8 million vs. 9.5 million) and by 23% in Adults 18-49 (4.8/12 vs. 3.9/10).

"Cougar Town" (9:31-10:30 p.m.)

Against the final segment of "Idol," ABC's 1-hour season finale of "Cougar Town" ran as the No. 2 series in its time period among key Adults: AD18-49 (2.0/5) and AD25-54 (2.2/5).

· "Cougar Town" improved its time period week to week for ABC by solid margins in Total Viewers (+9% - 5.0 million vs. 4.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (+11% - 2.0/5 vs. 1.8/4), generating its top young adult performance in the hour in 5 weeks - since 4/21/11.

"Happy Endings" (10:30-11:00 p.m.)

Building its numbers at 10:30 p.m., ABC's freshman season finale of "Happy Endings" posted the Net's top Adult 18-49 rating (1.7/4) in the time slot in 6 weeks, its highest Adult 18-34 number (1.5/4-tie) in more than 4 months and its best Men 18-34 number (1.2/4-tie) in more than 6 months - since 4/13/11, 1/12/11 and 11/10/10, respectively.

Thursday

With 3 hours of repeat programming, ABC was up 8% over the same Thursday last year (5/27/10) in Total Viewers (4.1 million vs. 3.8 million), which was a night with a mix of 2 originals and 1 repeat.

"Wipeout" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

From 8:00-9:00 p.m., ABC's repeat telecast of "Wipeout" beat out NBC's repeat comedies ("Community"/"30 Rock") in the hour by 100% in Total Viewers (5.0 million vs. 2.5 million) and by 75% in Adults 18-49 (1.4/5 vs. 0.8/3). In addition, the replay "Wipeout" grew over its most-recent encore by 6% in Total Viewers and by 8% in Adults 18-49 (4.7 million and 1.3/4 on 4/21/11).

"Rookie Blue" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

At 9:00 p.m., ABC's encore "Rookie Blue" improved the hour year to year for ABC by double-digit percentages in Total Viewers (+18% - 3.9 million vs. 3.3 million) and Adults 18-49 (+13% - 0.9/3 vs. 0.8/2) over original programming on the same night last year ("Hollywood Salutes Matt Damon" on 5/27/10).

"Rookie Blue" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

At 10 o'clock, an additional encore telecast of "Rookie Blue" attracted a larger audience year to year to Tuesday's 10:00 p.m. hour for ABC, improving 10% over the year-ago night (3.4 million vs. 3.1 million).

Sunday

With its repeat lineup of "America's Funniest Home Videos" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition", ABC was up over same Sunday last year (5/30/10) by 1.0 million viewers (4.2 million vs. 3.2 million) and by 25% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/4 vs. 0.8/3).
