UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - October 28, 2010 - Encore telecasts of NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" have tied CBS's rebroadcasts of "Late Show with David Letterman" and "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in adult 18-49 ratings for the week of October 18-22, with Jay and Jimmy both winning over their CBS competition in adult 18-49 viewers by margins of 8 percent.

"Tonight" increased its margin of victory in adult 18-49 viewers over "Late Show" versus both the prior week and the same week last year. Jay's 8 percent advantage over "Late Show" in 18-49 viewers is "Tonight's" biggest in three weeks.

In adult 18-49 rating points, "Tonight" tied CBS's "Late Show" for the week (0.8 rating each) and tied ABC's original "Nightline" head to head from 11:30 p.m.-midnight ET (0.9 rating each). In adult 18-49 viewers, "Tonight" led "Late Show" last week by an 8 percent margin (1.100 million vs. 1.022 million), up from a 6 percent win for the prior week and reversing the order from the same week last year, when "Late Show" led by 4 percent. In total viewers, "Tonight" last week finished within 0.3 percent of "Late Show" (3.223 million vs. 3.212 million), closing the gap dramatically versus the same week last year, when "Late Show" led by a 55 percent advantage.

Through the first five weeks of the 2010-11 season, "Tonight" is leading "Late Show" by a 5 percent margin in adult 18-49 viewers (1.236 million vs. 1.172 million), reversing the order at this point one year ago, when "Late Show" held a 7 percent lead (1.440 million vs. 1.345 million). In total viewers, "Tonight" leads "Late Show" through five weeks of the season by a 3 percent margin (3.634 million vs. 3.519 million), reversing the order of one year ago, when "Late Show" led by a 76 percent advantage (4.427 million vs. 2.522 million).

At 12:35 a.m. ET last week, encore telecasts of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" delivered bigger audiences than CBS's rebroadcasts of "Late Late Show" for the week in adults 18-49, adults, men and women 18-34 and other key demographics. Jimmy lengthened his 18-49 lead over CBS's "Late Late Show" versus the same week last year, topping "Late Late Show" by an 8 percent margin (658,000 vs. 610,000), up from a 0.3 percent edge last year.

Through the first five weeks of the 2010-11 season, Jimmy Fallon is leading "Late Late Show" by a 13 percent margin in adult 18-49 viewers (767,000 vs. 679,000), building on his lead of one year ago that stood at 2 percent (815,000 vs. 799,000). In total viewers, Jimmy has cut the year-ago "Late Late Show" lead down to 6 percent (1.766 million vs. 1.671 million) from its year-ago 40 percent (1.972 million vs. 1.408 million).

Versus the first five weeks of last season, "Tonight" is running within 8 percent of its year-ago 18-49 viewership (1.236 million vs. 1.345 million), while "Late Show" is down 19 percent (1.172 million vs. 1.440 million), "Nightline" is down 7 percent (1.270 million vs. 1.362 million) and "Kimmel" is down 2 percent (690,000 vs. 701,000). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is matching his year-ago 0.6 rating in adults 18-49 and running within 6 percent of last year in 18-49 viewers (767,000 vs. 815,000), while "Late Late Show" is down 15 percent (679,000 vs. 799,000).

In total viewers, "Tonight" is up 44 percent versus its average viewership for the first three weeks of last season (3.634 million vs. 2.522 million), while "Late Show" is down 21 percent (3.519 million vs. 4.427 million), "Nightline" is down 4 percent (3.809 million vs. 3.983 million) and "Kimmel" is flat (1.686 million vs. 1.686 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is up 19 percent versus his year-ago pace in total viewers (1.671 million vs. 1.408 million), while "Late Late Show" is down 10 percent (1.766 million vs. 1.972 million).

For the week at 1:35 a.m. ET, encore telecasts of "Last Call with Carson Daly" (0.3 rating in 18-49, 0.2 in 18-34) finished within a tenth of a rating point of ABC's "Kimmel" and CBS's "Late Late Show" in adult 18-34 rating despite starting 90 minutes later than "Kimmel" and an hour later than "Late Late Show."

Through the first five weeks of the season, Carson Daly is up 6 percent in 18-49 viewers (485,000 vs. 456,000) and up 20 percent in total viewers (965,000 vs. 804,000).
