NBC RATINGS RESULTS FOR THE PRIMETIME WEEK OF MARCH 31-APRIL 6

THROUGH 28 WEEKS OF THE 2007-08 SEASON, NBC IS TIED FOR #2 IN ADULTS 18-49 AND IS THE ONLY MAJOR NETWORK TO HAVE GROWN YOUNGER IN PRIMETIME

LAST TUESDAY'S 'THE BIGGEST LOSER' GAINS A HEFTY 54 PERCENT IN 18-49 AND 48 PERCENT IN TOTAL VIEWERS OVER ITS TWO-HOUR TELECAST, AGAINST FIERCE COMPETITION FROM 'IDOL' AND 'DANCING WITH THE STARS'

'MY NAME IS EARL' RETURNS ON THURSDAY, WINNING ITS TOUGH SLOT IN ADULTS 18-34 AND KEY MALE DEMOS, AND RANKING #2 IN ADULTS 18-49

BURBANK, Calif. � April 8, 2008 � NBC averaged a 2.0 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall for the week of March 31-April 6, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Through 28 weeks of the 2007-08 season, Fox leads in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, with NBC, ABC and CBS all tied in the extraordinarily tight race for #2. Season-to-date averages in adults 18-49 for the period September 24, 2007 through March 30, 2008 are Fox (4.3/11), ABC, CBS and NBC (3.0/8), Univision (1.5/4), CW (1.0/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1).

Through the first 28 weeks of the 2007-08 season, NBC is the only network to have grown younger in primetime, and NBC is now the "second-youngest" of the major broadcast networks. NBC's median age has moved to 47.9 years this season from 48.1 years at this point last season. In this same comparison, ABC's median age has increased by 2.2 years (to 49.0 from 46.8), CBS's median age has increased to 52.7 years old from 51.8 and Fox's median age has increased by 1.2 years to 43.8 from 42.6 years old at this point last season.

Primetime averages for the week of March 31-April 6 in adults 18-49 were Fox (3.5/10), CBS (3.4/10), ABC (2.2/6), NBC (2.0/5), Univision (1.6/5), CW (0.8/2) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (11.5 million), Fox (9.6 million), ABC (7.6 million), NBC (6.3 million), Univision (3.8 million), CW (2.2 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

NBC highlights for the week of March 31-April 6:

* On Monday, "Medium" was up 35 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's pre-"Medium" season average in the time period, despite first-run competition from CBS's "CSI: Miami" and ABC's "The Bachelor."

* Also on Monday, "Deal or No Deal" surged by 75 percent in adults 18-49 and by 66 percent or 5.0 million persons in total viewers from its first to its second half-hour.

* On Tuesday, despite head-to-head competition from two hours of "American Idol" and 9-10 p.m. competition from "Dancing With the Stars," "The Biggest Loser" gained a hefty 54 percent in 18-49 rating and 48 percent or more than 3.2 million persons in total viewers from its first to its final half-hour. Through 14 telecasts, "Biggest Loser 5" is running well ahead of the ratings performance of "Biggest Loser 4," despite the current cycle facing competition from "American Idol" that the previous cycle of "Loser" did not face.

* On Thursday, a one-hour episode of "My Name is Earl" finished #2 in the time period in adults 18-49 and #1 in adults 18-34. "Earl" also ranked #1 among men 18-34 and men 18-49, tied with CBS's "Survivor" in the latter category.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of March 31-April 6:

On Monday, March 31, from 9-10 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (2.8 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49, 10.1 million viewers overall) built by 115 percent in 18-49 rating and by 134 percent in total viewers versus its lead-in from the previous hour, a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall for "My Dad is Better Than Your Dad" from 8-9 p.m.

"Deal" surged from its first to its second half-hour, gaining 75 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.5/8 from a 2.0/5) and 66 percent or 5.0 million persons in total viewers (to 12.6 million from 7.6 million).

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Medium" (3.1/8 in 18-49, 9.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, total viewers and most other key measures. "Medium," which was the conclusion of a two-part story, gained 3 percent in 18-49 rating and 8 percent in total viewers versus the prior week.

Despite first-run competition in the hour from CBS's "CSI: Miami" and ABC's "The Bachelor," "Medium" was up 35 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's season average in the time period prior to "Medium's" January 7 debut (3.1 vs. 2.3, "live plus same day").

On Tuesday, April 1, "The Biggest Loser 5" (3.3/8 share in adults 18-49, 8.2 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m. ET, behind only Fox's "American Idol"-led lineup for the two-hour time period. In the 9-10 p.m. hour, "Biggest Loser" finished within 0.2 of an 18-49 rating point of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" results show, while topping "Dancing" among adults, men and women 18-34.

Despite a full two hours of competition from "American Idol" and 9-10 p.m. competition from "Dancing," "Biggest Loser" gained 54 percent in 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its fourth (to a 4.0/10 from a 2.6/7) and 48 percent or more than 3.2 million persons in total viewers (to 9.9 million from 6.7 million).

To date, "The Biggest Loser 5" is running 6 percent ahead of "Biggest Loser 4" in 18-49 rating (3.4 vs. 3.2, "live plus same day" averages through 14 episodes of each). In total viewers, "Biggest Loser 5" is running 10 percent ahead of "Biggest Loser 4" (8.3 million vs. 7.5 million), even though "Biggest Loser 5" is facing competition from "American Idol" that "Biggest Loser 4" did not face.

Tuesday at 10 p.m., ET an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" averaged a 2.1/6 in 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall versus atypical competition from the concluding episode of a special two-part "CSI: Miami" on CBS and a first-run ABC News special.

On Wednesday, April 2 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 9.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" averaged a 1.3/3 in 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., an encore telecast of "Law & Order" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, trailing a first-run "CSI: NY" on CBS and topping a first-run "Men in Trees" on ABC.

On Thursday, April 3, from 8-9 p.m. ET, a one-hour "My Name is Earl" (3.2/9 in 18-49, 7.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in its highly competitive time period in adults 18-49 and #1 in adults 18-34, topping CBS's "Survivor," Fox's "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" and ABC's "Miss Guided." "Earl" also ranked #1 among men 18-34 and men 18-49 (tied with CBS's "Survivor" in the latter demo). From its first half-hour to its second, "Earl" increased by 17 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.4 from a 2.9).

Thursday from 9-11 p.m. ET, four back-to-back encore episodes of "The Office" averaged a 2.5/7 in 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers from 9�9:30 p.m., a 2.3/6 in 18-49 and 4.6 million viewers from 9:30-10 p.m., a 2.2/6 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers from 10-10:30 p.m., and a 2.3/7 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers from 10:30-11 p.m.

On Friday, April 4 from 8-9 p.m., ET, "Amne$ia" averaged a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers overall.

Friday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC," (1.8/6 in adults 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and other measures.

On Saturday, April 5, at 9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: SVU" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) built by 50 percent in 18-49 versus its lead-in from the previous hour -- a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. for an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in from the previous hour by 25 percent in both 18-49 rating and total viewers. "Law & Order" was the #1 non-sports choice in the hour in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories.

NBC's primetime performance increased steadily half-hour to half-hour on Saturday, building by 129 percent in 18-49 rating and by 84 percent in total viewers from the first to the final half-hour of primetime (to a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers from 10:30-11 p.m. from a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers from 8-8:30 p.m.).

On Sunday, April 6 from 7-8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 (tied), and #2 outright in all key adult-female demographics � women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

At 8 p.m. ET, the USA Network series "Monk" averaged a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 5.7 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., the USA Network series "Psych" delivered a 1.3/3 in 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall.

At 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: SVU" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in from the previous hour by 46 percent in 18-49 rating and by 79 percent or more than 3.1 million persons in total viewers.
