ART IN BLOOM WITH HELEN DEALTRY/RESTORED (Magnolia) - The cable channel has renewed both series for a third and seventh season, respectively, due in the coming months as well as commissioned three new ones: "Big Sky Kitchen with Eduardo Garcia" (Linguine Productions, six episodes) centers on "the Montana-based chef as he invites viewers into his kitchen, where he prepares meals drawn from his Latin and Jewish heritage, using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients." "Weekend Makeover" (RIVR Media, nine episodes) has DIY expert Jenni Yolo refreshing "a space in the home of a family member, client or friend over the course of a weekend." And "La Pitchoune: Cooking in France" (Citizen, seven episodes) "follows four friends running a cooking school in Julia Child's former home. Students from all over travel to learn French cooking techniques in the kitchen where Julia cooked and wrote some of her most famous recipes." (Variety.com)
DRIVER, THE (AMC) - Ivan Mbakop, Arica Himmel and Dax Rey are the latest additions to the Giancarlo Esposito-led drama series. Mbakop will play Zenzo, "The Horse's (Zackary Momoh) elder, short-tempered brother"; Himmel will play "Vince's (Esposito) daughter Michaela"; and Rey is Luke, "The Horse's son." (THR.com)
EXTRA (Syndication) - Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey is signing off as executive producer of the series after 22 years. She'll be succeeded by Theresa Coffino and Jeremy Spiegel, who will continue as executive producers. (DailyMail.co.uk)
GORDITA CHRONICLES (HBO Max) - The streamer has canceled the coming-of-age comedy series after one season. "Live-action kids and family programming will not be part of our programming focus in the immediate future, and as a result, we've had to make the very difficult decision to end Gordita Chronicles at HBO Max," a spokesperson for the streamer said in a statement. "The series earned critical acclaim and a loyal following, and we are proud to have worked with creator Claudia Forestieri and our two powerhouse executive producers, Eva Longoria - who also masterfully directed the pilot - and Zoe SaldaƱa, to bring Cucu's journey to the screen. We thank them and the talented cast and crew for creating such a heartfelt, groundbreaking show that connected deeply with a very important demographic." Producer Sony Pictures Television plans to shop the project elsewhere. (Deadline.com)
I HATE SUZIE (HBO Max) - A back injury to star Billie Piper will reportedly have no impact on the show's second season. Production has already been completed at the time of the incident. (Deadline.com)
LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME (NBC) - Rick Gonzalez and Brent Antonello have both joined the cast of the upcoming third season as "NYPD detectives assigned to the Organized Crime unit." No other character details were given. (Deadline.com)
MARRIED BY MISTAKE (E!, New!) - Chloe Bennet, Blair Penner and Anthony Konechny will star in an original movie for the cable channel which "follows Riley (Bennet) who, after learning that her dream job has fallen through, has a drunken night out with her best friend Nate (Penner) only to find themselves the next morning in Las Vegas and married. With no job prospects on the horizon, Riley takes Nate up on his offer to move back to his hometown in Tennessee to help rescue his family's business. Riley's determination to make a name for herself in the company is complicated by the arrival of Nate's ex-girlfriend and his attractive older brother. Will Riley and Nate be able to keep up the ruse, or will romances both new and old get in the way?" Mike Rohl is directing from a script by Meg Jackson with Mick MacKay producing and Brad Krevoy, Amanda Phillips, Lorenzo Nardini, Ivan Hayden, Mike Rohl and Doran S. MAX HEADROOM (AMC, New!) - Matt Frewer is set to reprise his role for a proposed reboot series featuring the 1980s staple, a supposedly computer-generated TV host "known for biting commentary, quick wit and manic glitching." Christopher Cantwell is behind the project with Frewer, Lisa Whalen, Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah also executive producing for SpectreVision and All3Media. No plot specifics however were given. SIDELINED (Amazon, New!) - Emily Heller and Megan Gailey have sold a single-camera comedy to the streamer "set behind the scenes of a struggling national sports show. The project is centered around the show as they decide to shake things up by pairing an unknown, passionate female sports fan with an irrelevant, former pro basketball "nice guy," and what turns out to be their very complicated history." Two Shakes Entertainment's Damon Wayans Jr. and Kameron Tarlow will also executive produce for CBS Studios and Amazon Studios. (Deadline.com)
SNOWPIERCER (TNT) - Production on the show's fourth and final season has been suspended "after soaring temperatures Thursday led to multiple cases of heat exhaustion." "Out of an abundance of caution, production of Snowpiercer wrapped early yesterday and was suspended for today due to extreme heat on location," said a spokesperson for Tomorrow Studios. "The health and well-being of show cast and crew remains top priority." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JASON WOLINER PROJECT (Peacock) - Christopher Stanley, W. Earl Brown, Josh Pais and Irina Maleeva are set to recur on the top secret series, while James Remar, Paul Ben-Victor and Hilda Boulware will guest star. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
VICTORIES GREATER THAN DEATH (Amazon) - Gennifer Hutchison has been tapped as showrunner of the streamer's Charlie Jane Anders adaptation. Michael B. Jordan, Elizabeth Raposo, Dan Halstead and Nate Miller also executive produce for Outlier Society and Amazon Studios. (Variety.com)
