FUN, FOOD, ALIENS AND ADVENTURE ARE ALL ON THE TRAVEL CHANNEL SLATE FOR Q3 AND Q4 2017

NEW YORK (June 12, 2017) - Secret swimming holes and extreme waterparks aren't the only things making a big splash at Travel Channel this summer. Building off the strength and momentum of the first half of 2017, Travel Channel's programming pipeline for the next six months has a solid 264 prime-time premiere hours of fun, food, aliens and adventure. Between now and year end, 11 new series will make their debut on the network. Fan favorites like "Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations," "Mysteries at the Museum" and "Food Paradise" already have increased production of fresh episodes. In addition, as it readies its 2018 programming slate, the network has implemented an aggressive program development plan that features more than 33 pilots.

For now, Travel Channel's focus is on keeping ratings strong with lively, new content. Two highly anticipated series - "Man v. Food" with new man Casey Webb and "Caribbean Pirate Treasure" with Ashlan and Philippe Cousteau - are on Travel Channel's docket for August. In the fall, adventurer Josh Gates will embark on the ultimate search for life on other planets in a four-part special mini-series, "Expedition Unknown: Search for Extraterrestrials." And, culinary explorer Andrew Zimmern will reveal his favorite eateries and dishes in cities around the world in his new series, "The Zimmern List." In October, Halloween-themed programming will get a special showcase as part of "Scarecation" - a new programming event that will feature such series as "Xtreme Screams," "Haunted USA," and a four-part special "Ghost Adventures" series.

Future series will feature favorite American locales from the wilds of Alaska in "Alaska: 1000 Ways" (wt) and "Alaska Summer" (wt) and sandy exotic places in "Island Explorer," "Maui Beach Patrol" (wt) and "Hawaii: Eat Drink Play" (wt).

"Every new episode, in every new and returning series, will expand on a network viewing experience that appeals to each travel enthusiast in the family," said Courtney White, senior vice president, programming, Travel Channel, Food Network and Cooking Channel. "If you're into thrills and epic adventures or if you want to know what it tastes like to take that first bite of a local dish or get an eyeful of an amazing not-to-be-missed area attraction, Travel Channel has got you."
