TV ONE CELEBRATES THE 100TH EPISODE OF VIEWER FAVORITE, "FATAL ATTRACTION," ON MONDAY, OCT. 17 AT 9 P.M. ET

Milestone Episode Features Tragic Murder in The Transgender Community: Lover's Quarrel or Hate Crime?

SILVER SPRING, MD. - OCT. 13, 2016 - TV One's hit crime and justice series Fatal Attraction turns 100! The popular docu-series reaches the 100th episode milestone with an all new nail-biter episode premiering Monday, Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. ET. Fatal Attraction birthed TV One's foray into true crime shows when it launched in 2012. Since then, the series has garnered a strong following of "Arm Chair Detectives" who tune in every Monday night to live-tweet their theories on the case and provide blow-by-blow commentary during the show.

"We are delighted that the true crime audience has found and embraced Fatal Attraction, making it a staple in our Monday night line-up. They are obsessed with true crime stories and they are fiercely loyal," said D'Angela Proctor, Head of Original Programming and Production. "The show highlights crimes of passion, suspicious disappearances and deadly love triangles in the urban community that one truly has to see in order to believe."

Fatal Attraction is the flagship show in the network's "True Crime Mondays" line up. During 2Q16, TV One was a Top 3 Network on Cable in Primetime on Monday nights among key demos (AA P25-54 and W25-54). For the last three quarters, TV One has remained a Top 5 Cable Network in Monday night prime among AA Women 25-54.

"Watching Fatal Attraction and following the conversations on social media is like watching the show with friends. I call them 'Fatal Fanatics' and they add another level of interaction to the show," said Tia A. Smith, Sr. Director, Original Programming at TV One and Fatal Attraction's Executive in Charge of Production. "This show opened the door for TV One to take this adventure into crime mysteries and we're thrilled that 100 shows later it's still captivating viewers and creating water cooler conversations."

Fatal Attraction's 100th episode explores the tragic murder of Ty Underwood, a transgender woman, who was gunned down in her vehicle. Recently accepted into nursing school, surveillance and electronic evidence shows her new beau Carlton Champion is with Underwood at the time of her murder, ultimately leading to a life sentence in prison.

Although the number of hate-motivated incidents against gays and lesbians dropped significantly in 2014, hate crimes against transgender people rose a shocking 13 percent. Of all the homicides committed against members of the LGBTQ community, 72 percent of the victims were transgender individuals.

Fatal Attraction delves into real-life stories of criminal acts committed under the guise of love and the tragic consequences that turn deadly. Recounting stories of love-gone-wrong, each episode consists of first-person interviews from loved ones, accounts from investigating officials, interrogation footage, recreations of pivotal moments and haunting cinematography.

Fatal Attraction is produced for TV One by Jupiter Entertainment with Todd Moss as co-executive producer and Robert Twilley and Harrison Land as executives in charge of production. Lamar Chase serves as Producer and Director of Programming; Tia A. Smith is Executive in Charge of Production and Sr. Director of Original Programming and Production; and D'Angela Proctor is Head of Original Programming and Production for TV One.
