LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

THE CRUX (HBO, New!) - Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey is set to topline a potential new drama at the pay channel about "a charismatic cult leader." He'll also executive produce the project, which was also being eyed by Showtime, Starz and FX, alongside his Trigger Street Productions partner Dana Brunetti. Said hour is the result of a first-look deal the company recently inked with the network. No other details about "The Crux" however were given.
LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES (NBC) - Teri Polo is set to recur on the franchise's latest incarnation. She'll play Casey Winters, the wife/former partner of Skeet Ulrich's character, "a former hard-nosed cop who retired to start a family." Corey Stoll co-stars as Ulrich's current partner.
LONE STAR (FOX) - Chad Faust ("The 4400") has scored a role on the freshman drama. He'll play Harrison, "the roguish ex-husband of Adrianne Palicki's Cat Thatcher." He's further detailed as follows: Harrison is "her mistake carried over from high school. What was charming about him at seventeen is less than attractive in a grown man with adult responsibilities that until now, he has not wanted to shoulder. But his motorcycle-riding, noncommittal, unfaithful-husband ways are behind him, or so he claims, and he's back in town now, ready to prove that he's changed." It's not clear when his first episode will air.
UNTITLED STUDIO LAMBERT PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Studio Lambert is developing a thematic spin-off of the smash hit "Undercover Boss" featuring "two employees who work at the same company competing against one another for a major promotion." No other details were given about the project, which has a pilot commitment.
