NATURAL HISTORY'S MOST TRUSTED, CELEBRATED STORYTELLER SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH HOSTS 'FIRST LIFE'

-- Landmark Television Event Premieres This Fall on Discovery Channel --

(Silver Spring, Md.) -- Award-winning, world-renowned natural scientist Sir David Attenborough travels the globe on an unforgettable quest to explain the origins of modern life in Discovery Channel's FIRST LIFE premiering this fall. Blending state of the art CGI with an array of exotic locations and Attenborough's signature exuberance and master storytelling, FIRST LIFE documents how nature's first animals evolved and ultimately gave rise to the modern animals we know today.

Exploring the origins of our past, FIRST LIFE looks at a wide variety of animals, some almost alien looking, but still at the foundation for life today. From a millipede once larger than a car to creatures with multiple eyes, FIRST LIFE showcases the incredible range of creatures that once roamed the earth and why they are no longer living.

"Sir David Attenborough is the gold standard in natural history television. He is behind some of television's most watched, critically acclaimed programs. Discovery is honored to continue this rich heritage and tradition," said Clark Bunting, President and General Manager of Discovery Channel.

"From the moment they evolved to the moment they took their first steps on land, we can see the first movements, the first eyes, the first skeletons and the very first predators. We can also understand how those first animals laid the foundations for modern life," said Sir David Attenborough.

FIRST LIFE reveals not only the recent dramatic discoveries of past life through fossil evidence, but also how we can now bring the unfamiliar past back to life in order to explore the blueprint of our existence with the help of advanced CGI technology.

With fascinatingly detailed explanations, Attenborough studies the possible development of the digestive tract, how some species evolved from having more than 5,000 lenses as eyes and how the existence of a "living fossil" could be possible. With an expansive, ambitious production and television's most trusted natural history specialist at the helm, FIRST LIFE will surprise, intrigue and educate viewers.

FIRST LIFE is produced for Discovery Channel by Atlantic Productions. Anthony Geffen is executive producer. Susan Winslow is executive producer for Discovery Channel.
