CHILLER ANNOUNCES NEW ORIGINAL WEB THRILLER FROM DIRECTOR CAROLINE THOMPSON AND PRODUCER STEVE NICOLAIDES

Webisode Series Culminates In On-Air Premiere

BURBANK, Calif. - July 20, 2008 - Chiller, NBC Universal's entertainment cable channel dedicated to the horror/thriller genre, today announced the premiere of a new web series from acclaimed director Caroline Thompson and producer Steve Nicolaides, "The Hills Are Alive." New webisodes will post every Tuesday and Thursday on ChillerTV.com, beginning with the premiere webisode on Tuesday, July 22nd. The webisodes will culminate with the on-air premiere of the full-length film version on Chiller, with an alternate ending to the final webisode, which posts on October 23rd. The announcement was made by Dan Harrison, Senior Vice President, Emerging Networks, NBC Universal Cable.

"We're extremely excited to have this project from the talented team of Caroline Thompson and Steve Nicolaides at Chiller," said Harrison. ""The Hills Are Alive' is going to be a perfect fit for the enthusiastic and engaged audience at Chiller."

"Steve and I are very excited about 'The Hills Are Alive' on Chiller. It's a great opportunity to showcase the kind of independent, no-rules work that, at this point, only the web supports," said Thompson. "We wanted to prove that for very little money, anyone can grab a camera, anyone can cut on a computer, anyone can make their movie dreams come true."

"The Hills are Alive" is set in a small southern California town where three college students journey through the mountains in search of a sacred site. Challenged by their professor and their own curiosity, the students will voyage through the hills in search the geographical and spiritual history that is entrenched in the peaks and valleys of the scenic landscape. Their fate is forever changed during this summer school session turned spiritual pilgrimage. Each webisode is approximately three minutes in length.

"The Hills are Alive" was created by director Caroline Thompson and producer Steve Nicolaides, and is a far cry from the frolicking von Trapp children. After several years of big studio films Thompson and her husband, Nicolaides decided to fulfill a dream of making a movie for fun at their ranch in Ojai, California. Caroline Thompson's writing credits include "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride," "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Edward Scissorhands." Steve Nicolaides' production credits include "Misery," "School of Rock" and "Princess Bride." He and Thompson co-founded the website, Small & Creepy Films (www.smallandcreepy.com). The site is host to a community devoted to the curious, the strange, the out-there, the independent. "The Hills are Alive" stars Emma Jaster, Babar Peerzada ("Lions for Lambs"), Tarreyn Van Slyke, Noah Crowe ("Falling Like This," "Cinemagikal") and Eric Zwemer. Fans can also find blogs and additional material about "The Hills Are Alive" on www.smallandcreepy.com.
