NBC PRIMETIME RESULTS FOR THE WEEK OF FEB. 13-19

BURBANK, Calif. - Feb. 22 2006 - NBC won the week of Feb. 13-19, 2006 with a 5.9 rating, 15 share in adults 18-49 and 19.4 million viewers for the week, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Primetime averages for the week of Feb. 13-19 in adults 18-49 were NBC (5.9/15), Fox (4.4/11), ABC (4.3/11), CBS (3.1/8), Univision (1.8/5), WB (1.6/4), UPN (1.0/2) and Telemundo (0.5/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were NBC (19.4 million), ABC (11.4 million), Fox (10.4 million), CBS (10.2 million), Univision (4.1 million), WB (3.7 million), UPN (2.6 million) and Telemundo (1.1 million).

NBC highlights for the week of Feb. 13-19:

* This was NBC's highest-scoring week in adults 18-49 and total viewers since the week of Aug. 23-30, 2004 (the 2004 Athens Summer Games). This was NBC's top in-season week in adults 18-49 since the week of May 3-9, 2004 ("Friends" finale) and in total viewers since the week of Feb. 18-24, 2002 (the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games).

* An estimated 168.3 million total viewers have watched all or part of the Torino Winter Olympics on the networks of NBC Universal, through Monday Feb. 20, just 1 percent behind this same point during the 2002 Salt Lake City Games (170.8 million)

* On Monday, NBC's primetime coverage of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games delivered the network's top-rated Monday by all key measures since Aug. 23, 2004 (Athens Olympics), with an average 21.1 million viewers, more than doubling ABC (9.2 million) and Fox (10.2 million) and outdelivering CBS (11.4 million) by 85 percent.

* On Tuesday, NBC's primetime Olympics coverage scored the network's highest Tuesday viewership (18.6 million) since Aug. 24, 2004 (Athens Olympics), up 74 percent in total viewers versus NBC's Tuesday primetime season-to-date average.

* On Wednesday, NBC's primetime Olympics coverage scored the network's highest Wednesday numbers in 18-49 and total viewers since Aug. 25, 2004 (Athens Olympic), doubling the network's Wednesday season-to-date average in total viewers (18.1 million vs. 9.0 million) and adults 18-49 (5.9 vs. 2.9).

* On Thursday, NBC's primetime Olympics coverage propelled the network to a nightly win in total viewers, adults 18-49 and other measures. Viewership for NBC's primetime Olympics coverage doubled the network's Thursday season average in total viewers. This was the network's "most-watched" Thursday since Aug. 26, 2004 (Athens Olympics).

* On Friday, NBC's primetime Olympics coverage nearly quadrupled the viewership of Fox (19.2 million vs. 5.0 million), while topping ABC (9.9 million) and CBS (9.1 million) combined. Friday's primetime Olympics coverage was up 149 percent in total viewers and 143 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's Friday primetime season averages.

* On Saturday, NBC's primetime Olympics coverage dominated the night, more than doubling all its network competitors in total viewers and adults 18-49.

* On Sunday, NBC's primetime coverage of the Olympics won the night in total viewers, more than doubled the network's Sunday season average in adults 18-49 and scored NBC's highest-rated Sunday by all key measures since Aug. 29, 2004 (Athens Olympics)

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of live only results through Dec. 25 and "live plus seven day" data since then, except for the two most recent weeks, which are live plus same day.

Non-sports averages for the 2005-06 television season among adults 18-49 are: CBS (a 3.8 rating), ABC (3.7), Fox (3.3), NBC (3.1), WB (1.4), UPN (1.3).

Additional NBC highlights for the week of Feb. 13-19:

On Monday, Feb. 13 NBC's primetime coverage of the 2006 Winter Games from 8-11 p.m., featuring Women's Snowboarding and Pairs Figure Skating, averaged a 12.8 household rating and 19 household share, a 6.5/16 in adults 18-49 and 21.1 million average total viewers. This was up 97 percent in total viewers and 83 percent in adults 18-49 versus the network's Monday season-to-date average through Feb. 5

NBC won Monday primetime by all key measures. In total viewers, NBC (21.1 million) more than doubled ABC (9.1 million) and Fox (10.2 million) and outdelivered CBS (11.4 million) by 85 percent. NBC's coverage of the 2006 Winter Games delivered the network's highest-rated Monday by all key measures since Aug. 23, 2004 (Athens Olympics). For its full duration from 8-11:14 p.m., NBC's Olympics coverage averaged a 12.8/19 household rating/share, a 6.6/16 in adults 18-49 and 21.1 million average total viewers.

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, NBC's primetime coverage of the 2006 Winter Games, featuring Alpine Skiing and Men's Figure Skating, from 8-11 p.m., averaged an 11.4 household rating, a 5.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 18.6 million average total viewers. This was up 63 percent in households (11.4 vs. 7.0), 74 percent in total viewers (18.6 million vs. 10.7 million) and 30 percent in adult 18-49 rating (5.6 vs. 4.3) versus NBC's Tuesday season-to-date average. These were the network's highest Tuesday primetime results in households and total viewers since Aug. 24, 2004 (Athens Olympics). For its full duration from 8-11:18 p.m., NBC's Tuesday Olympics coverage averaged a 11.3/18 household rating/share, a 5.6/14 in adults 18-49 and 18.4 million average total viewers.

On Wednesday, Feb. 15, NBC's primetime coverage of the 2006 Winter Games, showcasing Freestyle Skiing and Short Track Speed Skating, from 8:30-11 p.m., averaged an 11.4 household rating, a 5.9 rating in adults 18-49 and 18.1 million average total viewers. This doubled the network's season-to-date Wednesday average in viewers (18.1 million vs. 9.0 million) and adults 18-49 (5.9 vs. 2.9) and was up 87 percent in household rating (11.4 vs. 6.1). It was the network's highest-rated Wednesday in households, adults 18-49 and total viewers since Aug. 25, 2004 (Athens Olympics). For the entire telecast from 8:30-11:19 p.m., NBC's Wednesday Olympics coverage averaged an 11.3/18 household rating/share, a 6.0/15 in adults 18-49 and 17.9 million average total viewers.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, NBC's primetime coverage of the 2006 Winter Games, showcasing Men's Figure Skating and Snowboard Cross, from 8:30-11 p.m., averaged a 12.2 household rating, a 6.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 20.0 million average total viewers. This doubled the network's season-to-date Thursday average in viewers (20.0 million vs. 10.1 million) and was up 82 percent in household rating (12.2 vs. 6.7) and up 41 percent in 18-49 (6.2 vs. 4.4). It was the network's highest-rated Thursday in households and total viewers since Aug. 26, 2004 (Athens Olympics). For the entire telecast from 8:30-11:41 p.m., NBC's Thursday Olympics coverage averaged an 11.9/19 household rating/share, a 6.1/16 in adults 18-49 and 19.4 million average total viewers

NBC won Thursday primetime in total viewers, outdelivering ABC by 52 percent (20.0 million vs. 13.2 million) and CBS (16.9 million) by 18 percent, while more than tripling Fox (5.3 million). NBC also won Thursday night in adults 18-49.

On Friday, Feb. 17, NBC's primetime coverage of the 2006 Winter Games, spotlighting Ice Dancing and Snowboard Cross, from 8:30-11 p.m., averaged an 11.4 household rating, a 5.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 19.2 million average total viewers. In average total viewership, NBC's 19.2 million viewers nearly tripled Fox (5 million), while topping ABC (9.9 million) and CBS (9.1 million) combined. NBC also won Friday night in adults 18-49 and other key measures. For its full duration from 8:30-11:19 p.m., Friday Olympics coverage averaged an 11.2/19 in households, 5.5/16 in 18-49 and 18.9 million total viewers.

Friday primetime coverage of the Olympics more than doubled NBC's season-to-date Friday primetime averages in viewers (19.2 million vs. 7.7 million), households (11.4 vs. 5.3) and adults 18-49 (5.6 vs. 2.3).

On Saturday, Feb. 18, NBC's primetime coverage of the 2006 Winter Games, featuring the Men's Super G and Short-Track Speedskating, from 8:30-11 p.m., averaged an 11.1/19 in households, a 6.1/17 in adults 18-49 and 19.3 million total viewers. NBC dominated the night, more than doubling its closest rival by all three measures. In adults 18-49, NBC more than tripled its pre-Olympic Saturday season average (1.8). Excluding the prior week's coverage of the first night of Olympics competition, this was NBC's highest-scoring Saturday in all key measures since August 21, 2004 (Athens Olympics). . For its full duration from 8:30-11:23 p.m., Saturday Olympics coverage averaged an 11.3/19 in households, 6.3/18 in 18-49 and 19.7 million total viewers.

On Sunday, Feb. 19, NBC's primetime coverage of the 2006 Winter Games, highlighting the Women's Super G and Women's Speedskating, from 7-11 p.m., averaged an 11.6/17 in households, a 5.4/13 in adults 18-49 and 19.4 million total viewers. In adults 18-49, NBC doubled its pre-Olympic Saturday season average (2.6). Excluding the previous week's coverage of the second night of Olympics competition, this was NBC's highest-scoring Sunday in all key measures since August 29, 2004 (Athens Olympics). . For its full duration from 7:00-11:38 p.m., Saturday Olympics coverage averaged an 11.6/18 in households, 5.5/13 in 18-49 and 19.2 million total viewers.
