DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE INFECTIOUS MURDERS ON NBC'S 'SVU'
NBC'S 'LAW & ORDER: SVU' INVESTIGATES STRING OF INFECTIOUS MURDERS (TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 10-11 PM ET)
CCH Pounder Guest-Stars
NEW YORK - October 17, 2005 - NBC's "Law&Order: SVU" delves into the topical and deadly health issue of crystal meth use and the spread of the HIV infection, when Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Fin (Ice-T) investigate a string of murders, (Oct. 18 at 10 PM ET/PT).
Benson and Fin investigate a brutal murder scene, where a man is found dead on display in the window of his workplace. The Detective's leading clue is a stamp found on the hand of the victim, that leads them to a gay circuit club, also a methamphetamine hangout. As they scan the ID 's of the guests who were at the club and during the investigation -- Fin discovers his estranged son Ken Randall (guest-star Ernest Wadell) was also there. As the case continues, Fin confronts his son, and Medical Examiner Warner (Tamara Tunie) confirms that the victim had the deadly and contagious new strain of AIDS, which is becoming an epidemic. As a similar string of murders surface, Benson and Fin are led to Gabriel Thurman (guest-star Brian Bloom) an activist they suspect is on a mission of mercy trying to stop the spread of the deadly disease. The case goes to trial and Thompson's attorney, Carolyn Maddox (guest-star CCH Pounder), tries to sway the jury that her client's actions were justified. Dann Florek, Diane Neal, Richard Belzer and B.D. Wong also star.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is a Wolf Films production in association with NBC Universal Television Studio. Dick Wolf is creator and executive producer; Neal Baer and Ted Kotcheff are executive producers.
